The Maldives is one of the world’s most breathtaking nature-based destinations. To help preserve this tropical paradise and ensure you enjoy a smooth and relaxing journey, please take note of the following information:
🌊 1️⃣ Environmental Regulations (Protecting the Natural Beauty of the Maldives)
The Maldives has a very delicate marine ecosystem. Respecting these guidelines helps preserve it for future generations:
• Please avoid touching or standing on coral reefs.
• Collecting shells, sand, sea stones, or coral (even dead coral) is not permitted.
• Feeding marine life is not allowed.
• Littering or leaving cigarette butts on beaches or in the sea is prohibited.
🔹 Violations may result in local fines.
🤿 2️⃣ Flying Before & After Diving
For your safety:
• After scuba diving, a minimum interval of 18–24 hours before flying is strongly recommended.
• This applies especially to seaplane transfers as well.
This precaution is essential to prevent decompression sickness.
👗 3️⃣ Cultural & Dress Guidelines
The Maldives is a Muslim country; however:
🏝 On resort islands (private hotel islands), dress is fully relaxed and swimwear is permitted without restriction.
🏘 On local islands:
• Modest dress in line with Islamic culture is recommended.
• Swimwear is allowed only in designated areas known as “Bikini Beach.”
• Alcohol consumption is not permitted on local islands.
These guidelines are intended to respect local culture and traditions.

• Importing alcohol into the Maldives is strictly prohibited (it will be confiscated at the airport).
• Possession of drugs carries very severe penalties.
• Drone usage requires official permission.
