Travel Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

Upon arrival at Hanoi International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in beautiful Hanoi. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, the founder of the country, affectionately known as “Uncle Ho” by the Vietnamese. The first stop will be Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, a majestic building constructed as his final resting place. Then, take a stroll through the beautiful gardens of the Presidential Palace and visit Uncle Ho’s Stilt House, a modest home built in traditional Vietnamese rural style, reflecting his simple, pure, and authentic lifestyle.

Next, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, built in 1049. This stone pagoda, designed in the shape of a lotus flower, symbolizes purity, and its unique architecture makes it one of Hanoi’s most iconic landmarks.

Afterward, explore Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, located on a small island in West Lake. This serene and spiritual site, with traditional architecture and Buddhist statues, is one of the city’s most important religious and cultural centers.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Built in the 11th century, this majestic temple is a rare example of well-preserved traditional Vietnamese architecture and is depicted on the 100,000 Vietnamese dong banknote.

A cyclo (rickshaw) ride is a great way to experience Hanoi up close. Your local driver will take you through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, known as the “36 Streets of 36 Trades,” reflecting businesses that have operated in the area since the 15th century, such as Silk Street, Rice Street, Paper Street, Lacquerware Street, and Jewelry Street.

Along the way, explore charming side streets, practice your bargaining skills, and browse unique items that will remind you of this memorable afternoon.

End the day with a stroll around the scenic Hoan Kiem Lake, named after a legendary magical sword used by Vietnam’s most revered heroes to defeat the Ming Dynasty.

Overnight stay in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (Lunch + Dinner)

Transfers to and from the cruise are by group bus and the cruise ship itself.

After breakfast, depart for Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site (approximately 3.5 hours). A visit to Ha Long Bay, a stunning combination of mountains and sea, is a must for anyone traveling to Vietnam.

The small Ha Long Bay is located in Bai Bo Bay, covering an area of 1,500 km² with 3,000 green islands that sparkle like jewels.

Upon arrival at the harbor, board a traditional Chinese-style cruise and enjoy the majestic scenery of Ha Long Bay with a fresh seafood lunch on board. The cruise ship offers a wide range of modern amenities.

Visit the amazing caves in Ha Long Bay, adorned with stalactites. Dinner is served on the cruise as you admire the limestone formations emerging from the water and fishing boats glowing in the twilight. Enjoy these precious moments in one of the world’s most spectacular natural landscapes. Overnight on the cruise.

Day 4: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Flight to Da Nang

Enjoy breakfast on the cruise while taking in the beautiful scenery of Ha Long Bay. Afterward, return to Ha Long Harbor and transfer to the airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, your guide will greet you at the airport, and you will check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Da Nang.

Day 5: Da Nang – Hoi An Walking Tour

After breakfast, transfer to Hoi An and join a guided walking tour around the ancient town. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chinese Assembly Hall, a traditional Vietnamese merchant’s house, one of the local museums, and the bustling market. Explore art galleries, souvenir shops, and tailor shops where you can order custom-made clothing if you wish.

In the afternoon, gain a closer look at rural life around Hoi An. This amazing experience includes a short transfer through scenic villages, rice fields, cemeteries, sightings of water buffalo, coconut gardens, and bamboo boat rides along the Coconut River.

Return to Da Nang in the evening. Overnight stay in Da Nang.

Day 6: Da Nang – Ba Na Hills & Golden Bridge

Today, enjoy a 30–45 minute drive from Da Nang city center to Ba Na Hills, a scenic mountainous area with panoramic views. The temperature here remains cool year-round.

At the Ba Na Hills cable car station, board a modern cable car system and take in the breathtaking natural scenery. Walk along the Golden Bridge, seemingly held up by a pair of giant hands emerging from the mountains, giving you the feeling of walking among the clouds.

You will have free time in Ba Na Hills to explore further, including European-style villas, the French Wine Cellar, flower gardens, and pagodas. (Entrance to the French Wine Cellar is at the traveler’s own expense.)

Return to Da Nang for overnight stay.

Day 7: Da Nang – Flight to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)

After breakfast, take a flight to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport and assist with hotel check-in. Overnight stay in Saigon.

Day 8: Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, explore the main attractions of Ho Chi Minh City, a city that has rapidly developed while maintaining a strong connection to its past. Visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels to learn about their history, experience life inside the tunnels, and discover the resilience and creativity of the Vietnamese people during wartime.

In the afternoon, visit the War Remnants Museum, which provides a vivid, though partial, view of the American presence in Vietnam. Then, take a short walk or drive to see prominent historical landmarks in the city, including Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Stroll along the vibrant Dong Khoi Street (formerly known as Rue Catinat) and explore its diverse shops. Conclude the day with a visit to the bustling Ben Thanh Market for shopping.

Overnight stay in Saigon.

Day 9: Saigon – Mekong Delta (Lunch)

Early in the morning, drive approximately 2 hours to the Mekong Delta, famous for tropical fruit gardens, coconut groves, and traditional coconut-based products. Upon arrival, board a local wooden boat to enjoy the scenic river landscapes and riverside life.

Visit Dragon Island and experience the warm hospitality of a local farming family while tasting freshly picked tropical fruits and coconut milk. Enjoy a cup of honey tea and immerse yourself in local village life. Before returning to Saigon, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

Description

10-Day Vietnam Tour | 2 Nights Hanoi – 1 Night Ha Long Bay – 3 Nights Da Nang – 3 Nights Saigon

Plan a complete 10-Day Vietnam Tour with a carefully balanced stay across four of Vietnam’s most popular destinations: 2 nights in Hanoi, 1 night in Ha Long Bay, 3 nights in Da Nang, and 3 nights in Saigon.

This itinerary gives you enough time to experience each destination without rushing from one place to another. You can explore Hanoi’s culture and history, spend a night surrounded by the spectacular scenery of Ha Long Bay, enjoy the beaches and attractions of Da Nang, and finish your journey in the lively atmosphere of Saigon.

2 Nights in Hanoi – Culture, Food & City Life

Your 10-Day Vietnam Tour begins with 2 nights in Hanoi, giving you time to experience the capital without having to rush through its main attractions.

Explore the Old Quarter, historic landmarks, traditional streets, local markets, and Hanoi’s famous food scene. You can also take time to discover the city’s cafés and quieter neighbourhoods, where everyday Vietnamese life is often just as interesting as the major sights.

Two nights provide a comfortable introduction to Hanoi before continuing towards the coast.

1 Night in Ha Long Bay – An Overnight Cruise Experience

From Hanoi, continue to Ha Long Bay for an overnight stay and experience one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural environments.

Rather than visiting the bay only as a short day trip, spending 1 night in Ha Long Bay allows you to enjoy more time on the water and experience the changing scenery from afternoon through the following morning.

Depending on the selected cruise, activities may include kayaking, cave visits, onboard dining, sightseeing, and relaxing while surrounded by the bay’s famous limestone formations.

3 Nights in Da Nang – Beaches, Relaxation & Central Vietnam

The next stage of your 10-Day Vietnam Tour is 3 nights in Da Nang.

This longer stay gives you time to enjoy the city’s beaches and coastal atmosphere while also leaving room for excursions and discoveries around central Vietnam.

You can spend part of your stay relaxing by the sea, explore Da Nang’s local attractions, or add excursions to nearby destinations according to your interests.

Three nights also give you greater flexibility to create a balance between sightseeing and free time.

3 Nights in Saigon – Discover Southern Vietnam

Your journey ends with 3 nights in Saigon, officially known as Ho Chi Minh City.

The city offers a lively contrast to the more traditional atmosphere of Hanoi and the natural surroundings of Ha Long Bay.

During your stay, explore historic landmarks, museums, markets, local restaurants, cafés, and the city’s modern neighbourhoods. With three nights available, you can also consider adding excursions outside the city if they suit your travel plans.

Why This 10-Day Vietnam Tour Works

The distribution of nights is designed to give each destination a clear purpose:

Hanoi – 2 Nights
A compact introduction to Vietnamese culture, history, cuisine, and city life.

Ha Long Bay – 1 Night
An overnight cruise experience surrounded by dramatic limestone scenery.

Da Nang – 3 Nights
Time for beaches, relaxation, sightseeing, and optional excursions in central Vietnam.

Saigon – 3 Nights
A longer stay to explore southern Vietnam’s history, food, markets, and urban culture.

This structure creates a varied Vietnam Tour without making the trip feel like a constant sequence of hotel changes.
