Day 2: Hanoi City Tour

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is a fascinating blend of ancient Asian traditions and European influences. Despite its rapid modern development, the city has successfully preserved much of its traditional character and cultural identity.

Today’s tour begins with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, dedicated to the founder of modern Vietnam, affectionately known by the Vietnamese people as “Uncle Ho.” Your first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an impressive and solemn monument built as the final resting place of Ho Chi Minh.

Continue with a pleasant walk through the beautiful Presidential Palace Botanical Gardens to visit Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House. Inspired by a traditional Vietnamese rural home, this modest residence reflects his simple, pure, and authentic lifestyle in a peaceful natural setting.

Next, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, originally built in 1049. Constructed of wood on a single stone pillar and shaped like a lotus blossom, it symbolizes purity and is one of Hanoi’s most iconic landmarks. The tour then continues to Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, located on a small island in West Lake.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Built in the 11th century, this remarkably well-preserved complex is a rare example of traditional Vietnamese architecture and is famously depicted on the back of the 100,000 Vietnamese dong banknote.

A cyclo (rickshaw) ride is a wonderful way to experience Hanoi up close, allowing you to fully absorb the city’s lively, social, and energetic atmosphere. Accompanied by your guide, your local driver will take you through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, famously known for its “36 Streets of 36 Trades.” Dating back to the 15th century, each street was traditionally named after the goods once sold there, such as Silk Street, Rice Street, Paper Street, Lacquer Street, and Jewelry Street.

Explore the charming backstreets, test your bargaining skills, and pick up unique souvenirs that will always remind you of this memorable afternoon.

Conclude the day with a leisurely walk around the scenic Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as the “Lake of the Returned Sword,” named after a legendary magical sword used by a revered hero to defeat the Chinese Ming dynasty.
Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise (Lunch & Dinner)

After breakfast, depart for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours by shared cruise bus. No visit to Vietnam is complete without experiencing Halong Bay, a magnificent harmony of mountains and sea.

Located in the Gulf of Tonkin (Bac Bo), Halong Bay covers an area of about 1,500 square kilometers and features nearly 3,000 lush green limestone islands, rising from the water like precious jewels.

Upon arrival at the harbor, board a traditional Chinese-style cruise ship and begin exploring the breathtaking beauty of Halong Bay. Enjoy a freshly prepared seafood lunch on board, while the cruise offers a range of modern facilities for your comfort.

Visit spectacular limestone caves adorned with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Dinner will be served on board as you admire the magical reflections of limestone formations emerging from the sea and the glowing lights of fishing boats in the darkness. Enjoy these precious moments in one of the most extraordinary natural landscapes in the world.
Overnight on the cruise.

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Flight to Da Nang

Enjoy breakfast on board the cruise while taking in the final views of Halong Bay. After disembarkation, return to Hanoi and transfer to the airport for your flight to Da Nang.

Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure.
Overnight in Da Nang.

Day 5: Walking Tour of Da Nang & Hoi An

Today, enjoy a relaxing walking tour in the ancient town of Hoi An, renowned for its well-preserved architecture, pedestrian-friendly streets, and delicious local cuisine.

During this gentle walking tour, you will visit historic merchant houses, ancient pagodas, and traditional places of worship, showcasing a unique blend of Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese architectural influences.

Stop at the iconic 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, then continue to the Chinese Quarter on the other side of the river. You will also visit a local tailor shop, where you may choose to have custom-made clothing crafted to your preference.

Day 6: Full-Day Tour to Ba Na Hills & Golden Bridge (Da Nang)

Today, you will travel approximately 30 to 45 minutes from Da Nang city center to Ba Na Hills, a scenic mountainous area known for its breathtaking panoramic views. Thanks to its elevation, the climate here remains pleasantly cool throughout the year.

At the Ba Na Hills cable car station, you will board a modern cable car system, offering spectacular views of the surrounding natural landscapes. Walking across the iconic Golden Bridge, which appears to be held aloft by a pair of giant stone hands emerging from the mountains, you will feel as though you are walking among the clouds.

Enjoy free time at Ba Na Hills to explore more attractions, including European-style villas, the French Wine Cellar, flower gardens, and pagodas.
Please note: Entrance to the French Wine Cellar is at the passenger’s own expense.
Overnight in Da Nang.

Day 7: Flight from Da Nang to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for check-in.
Overnight in Saigon.

Day 8: Saigon City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, begin a full-day exploration of the major attractions of Ho Chi Minh City. Despite rapid modernization, the city maintains a strong connection to its historical roots.

Visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, where you will learn about the history, daily life inside the tunnels, and the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people during the war.

In the afternoon, visit the War Remnants Museum, which offers a powerful, though partial, insight into the American War in Vietnam. Continue with visits to prominent colonial landmarks such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office.

Enjoy a walk or drive along Dong Khoi Street (formerly known as Rue Catinat), where you can browse various shops and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Conclude the tour at the bustling Ben Thanh Market, a perfect place for shopping and experiencing local life.
Overnight in Saigon.

Day 9: Saigon – Mekong Delta Excursion (Lunch Included)

In the morning, depart for the Mekong Delta, approximately a 2-hour drive from Saigon. The region is famous for its tropical fruit orchards, coconut groves, and traditional coconut-based products.

Upon arrival, board a local wooden boat to enjoy views of rural landscapes and river life. Visit Dragon Island, where you will sample freshly picked fruits and coconut candy with a local farming family while enjoying honey tea and experiencing warm rural hospitality.

Before returning to Saigon, enjoy a local lunch at a traditional restaurant.
Overnight in Saigon.

Day 10: Saigon – Siem Reap | Half-Day City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for a morning flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to the city. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Visit a floating village, take photos of the peaceful countryside scenery, and interact with local residents to gain insight into rural Cambodian life.

On the way back to the hotel, stop at a local night market to enjoy the sights, aromas, and flavors of Cambodian street food. Walk through the small alleys around the Old Market area and sample authentic local snacks, including adventurous options such as grasshoppers, spiders, beetles, or crickets.
Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 11: Full-Day Angkor Temples Tour (Siem Reap)

Today, set out to explore the magnificent temples known as the Jewels of Angkor. Begin with Ta Prohm, famously known as the “Tomb Raider Temple.” Covered with giant fig trees and roots, this temple creates a mysterious and atmospheric setting.

Continue to the fortified city of Angkor Thom to admire the enigmatic Bayon Temple, crowned with numerous serene stone faces carved into its towers. Take time to learn about the intricate bas-reliefs at the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Proceed to Angkor Wat, one of the modern wonders of the world. Be amazed by its immense scale and learn how the Khmer Empire flourished between the 9th and 13th centuries, around the time this magnificent temple was constructed.
Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 12: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh | Half-Day City Tour

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, meet your guide and proceed to the hotel for check-in.

In the afternoon, begin your city tour with a visit to a major memorial site related to the tragic period of the Khmer Rouge regime, where many victims lost their lives and were buried in mass graves.

Description

Hidden Wonders of Vietnam & Cambodia | A Journey Beyond Expectation

Discover the Hidden Wonders of Vietnam & Cambodia on a remarkable journey connecting two fascinating Southeast Asian countries. From the historic streets of Hanoi and the waters of Ha Long Bay to the beaches of Da Nang, the energy of Ho Chi Minh City, the ancient temples of Siem Reap, and the cultural heritage of Phnom Penh, this Vietnam and Cambodia Tour offers far more than a conventional holiday.

With 2 nights in Hanoi, 1 night in Ha Long Bay, 3 nights in Da Nang, 3 nights in Ho Chi Minh City, 2 nights in Siem Reap, and 1 night in Phnom Penh, the journey combines city life, natural landscapes, coastal relaxation, ancient heritage, and authentic local experiences.

Hanoi – The Beginning of Your Journey

Your Vietnam Cambodia Tour begins in Hanoi, where Vietnam’s traditional character can still be felt in its narrow streets, historic neighbourhoods, local markets, and distinctive food culture.

With two nights in the capital, you have time to explore its major highlights while also experiencing the everyday rhythm of northern Vietnam.

Hanoi provides the perfect introduction to a journey that will soon move from the city into the dramatic landscapes of Ha Long Bay.

Ha Long Bay – A Night Among Limestone Islands

Your next stop is Ha Long Bay, where an overnight cruise allows you to experience one of Vietnam’s most extraordinary natural environments.

Instead of seeing the bay only as a quick excursion, spending a night on the water gives you more time to enjoy the changing scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and spectacular limestone formations.

Depending on your selected cruise, you may enjoy kayaking, cave visits, onboard dining, sightseeing, and time on deck surrounded by the remarkable landscape.

Da Nang – Three Nights on Vietnam’s Central Coast

After Ha Long Bay, continue south to Da Nang, where three nights offer time to combine relaxation with exploration.

Da Nang is known for its beaches, coastal scenery, modern atmosphere, and convenient access to some of central Vietnam’s most interesting attractions.

You can enjoy the coastline at your own pace or add excursions and experiences according to your interests. The longer stay also gives you more freedom to balance sightseeing with time to relax.

Ho Chi Minh City – The Vibrant South

The journey continues to Ho Chi Minh City, where three nights allow you to discover a very different side of Vietnam.

Formerly known as Saigon, the city combines historic landmarks, museums, markets, local cuisine, cafés, and modern neighbourhoods with the unmistakable energy of southern Vietnam.

Take time to explore the city’s highlights, discover its food culture, and experience the contrast between modern urban life and Vietnam’s complex history.

Siem Reap – Discover Cambodia’s Ancient Wonders

Cross the border into Cambodia and arrive in Siem Reap, the gateway to one of Southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological treasures.

With two nights in Siem Reap, you have time to explore the remarkable Angkor temple complex and discover the extraordinary architectural and cultural heritage of the Khmer civilisation.

The atmosphere here is completely different from the Vietnamese destinations earlier in the journey. Ancient temples, tropical landscapes, local markets, and Cambodian traditions create a fascinating new chapter in your Vietnam and Cambodia Tour.

Phnom Penh – Cambodia’s Cultural Capital

Your journey through Cambodia concludes in Phnom Penh, the country’s capital.

With one night in the city, you can experience some of its principal cultural and historical attractions while getting a glimpse of contemporary Cambodian life.

Phnom Penh offers an interesting contrast to Siem Reap: where Siem Reap is closely associated with ancient temples and archaeological heritage, Phnom Penh provides a window into Cambodia’s capital, culture, and modern identity.

A Journey Beyond Expectation

The real character of this Vietnam Cambodia Tour lies in the contrast between its destinations.

You move from Vietnam’s historic capital to the natural scenery of Ha Long Bay, then to the beaches of Da Nang and the fast-paced streets of Ho Chi Minh City before entering Cambodia and discovering the ancient world of Siem Reap and the modern capital of Phnom Penh.

Across the journey, you can experience:
