Travel Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

You will arrive at Hanoi International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed upon arrival and transferred to your hotel in the beautiful city of Hanoi. You will spend the night at the hotel.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is a perfect blend of ancient Asian and European influences. Despite the city’s recent rapid development, it has preserved much of its traditional identity. The complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, the founder of the nation, who is affectionately known by the Vietnamese people as “Uncle Ho,” is one of the city’s most important landmarks.

Your first stop is the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a magnificent monument built to serve as the final resting place of Uncle Ho. Continue with a walk through the beautiful botanical gardens of the Presidential Palace to visit Uncle Ho’s humble house, designed in the style of a traditional Vietnamese rural home. Its simple design in a peaceful setting reflects his pure, modest, and authentic lifestyle.

Next, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, originally built in 1049 from wood on a single stone pillar and shaped like a blooming lotus flower, symbolizing purity. Then proceed to Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, located on a small island in West Lake.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. This stunning temple, built in the 11th century, is a rare and well-preserved example of traditional Vietnamese architecture and is even depicted on the back of the 100,000 Vietnamese dong banknote.

A cyclo (rickshaw) ride is a great way to experience Hanoi up close, thanks to its lively, exciting, and social atmosphere. Your local driver will take you, following the guide, through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, famous for its “36 Streets of 36 Trades.” Dating back to the 15th century, these narrow streets are named after the traditional crafts and businesses that once dominated each street, such as Silk Street, Rice Street, Paper Street, Lacquer Street, and Jewelry Street.

You will explore the charming backstreets, try your hand at bargaining, and shop for unique souvenirs that will always remind you of this memorable afternoon.

End your day by strolling around the scenic Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Returned Sword), named after a legendary magical sword used by revered heroes to defeat the Chinese Ming Dynasty. Overnight stay in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Free Day / Optional Ninh Binh Tour

This morning, we depart from central Hanoi to Ninh Binh (approximately 2.5 hours), where you will witness a stunning landscape of limestone peaks rising from valleys, some of which are flooded and surrounded by spectacular cliffs.

Continue your journey to Bich Dong, considered Vietnam’s second most beautiful cave. Then, climb Ngu Nhac Son (Palm or Buddha Mountain) to enjoy panoramic views created by the surrounding mountains, rivers, pagodas, and temples.

Next, explore Tam Coc, meaning “Three Caves” in Vietnamese, often referred to as Ha Long Bay on Land. The Ngo Dong River winds through the towering limestone mountains, creating breathtaking scenery. In the afternoon, a skilled local boatman will take you along the majestic waterways lined with rice paddies. You will explore the caves nestled among the towering karsts and enjoy the stunning views.

Disembark from the boat and take a scenic rural path to reach the Thai Vi Temple. Along the way, admire the endless rice fields, mysterious caves, and sacred shrines, enjoying the beautiful rural landscape. In the late afternoon, return to Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi – Halong Bay

(Round-trip transfer via bus; group cruise on a traditional boat)

After breakfast, take a bus to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site (approximately 3.5 hours). No trip to Vietnam is complete without experiencing Halong Bay, a stunning harmony of mountains and sea.

Halong Bay, located in the Tonkin Gulf (Bac Bo), is dotted with around 3,000 green islands that resemble sparkling jewels and covers an area of approximately 1,500 square kilometers. Upon arrival at the harbor, board a traditional Chinese-style cruise and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Halong Bay along with a fresh seafood lunch on board. The cruise offers many modern amenities for your comfort.

Explore the amazing caves in Halong Bay, adorned with impressive stalactites. Dinner will be served on the cruise. Enjoy the magical moments as limestone karsts rise from the water and fishing boats light up the darkness, creating one of the most dramatic natural landscapes in the world. Overnight stay on the cruise.

After breakfast on the cruise, take in the morning beauty of the bay before returning to Hanoi. The rest of the day is free for leisure and exploration.

Day 5: Hanoi, Ha Long, transfer to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for departure to Ho Chi Minh City. You will spend the night at a hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City Sightseeing Tour

You will enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Your day begins with your guide as you visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels. These tunnels were originally excavated as a base for organizing guerrilla operations against French forces, but they were expanded during the Indochina War and became an extraordinary underground network designed to protect Viet Cong guerrillas from French aerial and ground attacks.

In the afternoon, a city tour will include visits to some of the most important historical sites. First, you will visit the Reunification Palace, which previously served as the residence of the Governor-General of Indochina and later the President of South Vietnam until the fall of the government on April 30, 1975. You will then enjoy a short walk or drive to one of Saigon’s most iconic landmarks, the Notre Dame Cathedral, a brick-built structure with twin bell towers, constructed according to the original design of those in Paris.

Opposite the cathedral stands the Central Post Office, designed by the French architect Gustave Eiffel before the construction of the Eiffel Tower.

You will continue with a walk along Dong Khoi Street, known during the colonial era as Rue Catinat, where you can explore charming shops along the boulevard that was once the center of shopping and social life for the elite.

Finally, you will conclude your visit at the lively Ben Thanh Market, where you can shop and purchase unique souvenirs that will serve as lasting memories of this exciting day.

Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City (B+L)

You will have breakfast at the hotel, then travel for approximately two hours to Ben Tre Province in the Mekong Delta, which is famous for its tropical fruit orchards, coconut groves, and traditional coconut-based products.

Upon arrival, you will board a local wooden boat and enjoy the rural scenery and riverside life, while tasting freshly picked tropical fruits and coconut milk.

Before returning to Saigon, a traditional local lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City – Departure

After breakfast, you will have free time until your transfer to the international airport for departure.
